UNDP Opportunity for Women-Led YWEEP Projects to Boost Entrepreneurship

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched an exciting opportunity for women-led businesses in Cameroon through the Youth and Women Employment and Empowerment Project (YWEEP). This initiative is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and associations led by women, focusing on innovation and digital solutions. By enhancing access to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the project aims to drive economic growth and empower women entrepreneurs.

The YWEEP initiative will pre-select 20 women-led projects that show promise in fields such as agro-industry, the green economy, and digital innovation. These selected participants will receive comprehensive training and entrepreneurship coaching. Additionally, they will be provided with vital information about the job market, which will help them to navigate and succeed in their respective industries.

A key goal of the project is to foster innovative solutions that can contribute to sustainable development and economic inclusion. The emphasis on digital solutions aligns with global trends towards technology-driven growth, providing these women-led businesses with a competitive edge. By targeting sectors like agro-industry and the green economy, the project also supports environmentally sustainable practices and contributes to food security and climate resilience.

Eligible applicants must be legally constituted and women-led entities. This includes SMEs, startups, and associations that have a strong focus on innovation and sustainable development. The application process is straightforward, and interested parties are encouraged to submit their proposals by 19th July 2024.
