Cameroon extends tax filing and payment deadline for February 2024 to March due to recent internet disruptions. Stay compliant with the new date!

Internet Disruptions Prompt Tax Deadline Extension in Cameroon.

If you haven’t heard yet, it’s time for a friendly reminder.

The Minister of Finance in Cameroon, in a recent announcement on March 15, extended the deadline for filing and payment of February’s tax to March 22, 2024.

You read that right – the new deadline is now March 22, 2024.

As many of us experienced firsthand, the internet disruptions from last week really put a wrench in things.

These disruptions have made it challenging for individuals and businesses alike to meet their tax obligations on time.

Thirteen countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, The Gambia, and Togo, found themselves grappling with internet outages last Thursday due to damage to submarine fiber optic cables.

Of course, a week’s extension doesn’t mean we should rest on our laurels!

While the pressure’s off for now, staying ahead of schedule is best.

So, if you can wrap things up sooner rather than later, by all means, do so. But if you need the extra days, enjoy that breather.

Internet Disruptions Prompt Tax Deadline Extension in Cameroon

In Cameroon, taxes are filed monthly, and the deadline is typically set for the 15th of each month for the previous month’s activities.

However, with the recent internet disruptions wreaking havoc on communication channels, the government has recognized the need to grant taxpayers a little more time.

It’s always best to stay ahead and ensure timely compliance with tax obligations.

So, mark your calendars, set those reminders, and let’s tackle those taxes together!
