What is a Taxpayer Identification?
A Taxpayer Identification is an official certificate issued by the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) in Cameroon. It contains your unique Numéro d’Identifiant Unique (NIU), which is used to track your tax obligations.
Why Do You Need a Taxpayer Identification?
- Legal Compliance: It is mandatory for all businesses and individuals subject to taxation.
- Official Transactions: Required for opening bank accounts, bidding for government contracts, and more.
- Tax Payment: Enables you to fulfill your tax obligations efficiently.
Steps to Register and Obtain Your Taxpayer Identification
1. Access the Registration Portal
- Visit the official registration portal at teledeclaration-dgi.cm.
- Click on “Je ne suis pas encore immatriculé(e)” (I am not yet registered).
2. Choose Your Registration Category
You will be redirected to the registration page: Registration Page.
- Select one of the following options:
- “Je suis une personne physique” (I am an individual).
- “Je suis une personne morale (Société, Organisme…)” (I am a legal entity, such as a company or organization).
- Tick the box to certify: “Je certifie avoir pris connaissance des dispositions légales ci-dessus” (I certify that I have read the legal provisions above).
3. Fill Out the Registration Form
- Complete the form with accurate information:
- Personal details for individuals (e.g., name, date of birth, address).
- Business details for companies (e.g., name, registration number, address).
- Submit the form online.
4. Log In to Your Account
- After submitting the form, log in to your teledeclaration account using your credentials.
5. Pay the Digitalization Fee

- Ensure the payment is completed to access your Taxpayer Identification document.
6. Download Your Unique Identification Number Certificate
- Once the payment is processed, navigate to the “Documents” section in your account.
- Download and save your Unique Identification Number certificate.
