Income tax declaration – It is a declaration to the tax authorities of how much you have earned within a period of time, which is used to calculate what you have to pay as tax. The period of time is depends on what the law says.
Income tax declaration in Cameroon
In Cameroon, income tax declaration is done on a yearly basis even though taxpayers are obliged to do a monthly declaration considered as advanced tax at the end of the financial year. The financial year in Cameroon begins from January 1 and ends on December 31. For a taxpayer to file in their income tax in Cameroon, they are obliged to the following:
- A taxpayer’s number
- A location plan for your business
- Your business’ turnover for the period
- Paying income tax, fines or duties
And after paying the declared income tax, you are obliged to
- Conserve the documents for at least ten years
- To communicate with the tax authority in case they need clarifications
Deadlines for income tax declaration in Cameroon
The tax authority in Cameroon has put in place deadlines for specific declarations which taxpayers are bound to respect. Below are the deadlines for income tax declarations in Cameroon:
- March 15 for the Statistics and Tax Declaration (Déclaration Statistique et Fiscal- DSF). This is the deadline for the annual income tax declaration in Cameroon
- Latest 15th of every month for advance income tax declaration

You can declare your taxes in Cameroon both manually and online.
Manually – For it to be done manually, the taxpayer will need to visit to the tax center where the business is registered and fill a pre-filled form for proof of income.
Online – The same can be done online on the website of the Directorate General of Tax or filling the online tax declaration form.
