Most aspiring entrepreneurs suffer not from lack of funds to start a business but from not using what they already have – talent, skill, business idea, etc. Almost all of them have the much-needed capital as their biggest challenge. Focus on what you have

If you focus constantly on what you don’t have, you will never add value to what you already have. Simply put, you will never see what you already have and can offer, if you put your mind a lot on what you don’t have. The more you focus on the things you don’t have, you turn to lament and forget about the about you have.

I have been a victim of the same thought until I realize that passion, skill or talent are the most important things one needs to start a business. We fail immediately we finish editing our business plan because we think we need funds to start. Even those whose business idea are based on human capital – skills that they have already acquired.

However, to me, raising capital is no longer an excuse for not starting a business. Checkout funding opportunities for African entrepreneurs. Most of the happiest people I have met don’t sit around and show their discontent about the things they don’t have. They love and cherish every moment of what comes to them. This is same with successful entrepreneurs. They use what they’ve got to make whatever they earn. Failure or success doesn’t matter to them. Aspiring entrepreneurs should know that talent, skill, business idea of yours that you are waiting for money to start, may just be waiting for you to start so that the money starts filling your account.
