Most aspiring entrepreneurs suffer not from lack of funds to start a business but from not using what they already have – talent, skill, business idea, etc. Almost all of them have the much-needed capital as their biggest challenge. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, then search deeper in you or do more research, you will discover that you already have what it takes to start. You don’t need to have a lot of money or capital to start a business.
Lack of funds should not be what will stop you from following your entrepreneurial dreams. If you are confident with your idea and have a clear vision on how to execute it, then you can make it. You have to know that to start a business, you need more than just cash. I know it will be a far-fetched idea if I stand before you saying you may not need money to start a business. You will say it’s impossible, right? But to me, it is possible with certain businesses. We can leave that for another time or you can checkout these 8 businesses you can start with no capital in Cameroon.

Focus on what you have
If you focus constantly on what you don’t have, you will never add value to what you already have. Simply put, you will never see what you already have and can offer, if you put your mind a lot on what you don’t have. The more you focus on the things you don’t have, you turn to lament and forget about the about you have.
Over the years I have spent as an entrepreneur, I met many individuals with very brilliant business ideas, yet having just one common problem – capital. It’s not like I am free from that also. I have been a victim of the same thought until I realize that passion, skill or talent are the most important things one needs to start a business. We fail immediately we finish editing our business plan because we think we need funds to start. Even those whose business idea are based on human capital – skills that they have already acquired.
However, to me, raising capital is no longer an excuse for not starting a business. Checkout funding opportunities for African entrepreneurs. The Internet and advancements in technology has brought in a level ground that makes it more easier, even though the competition is very fierce. Aspiring entrepreneurs can make use of it to look for various funding methods.
It becomes difficult for us to notice new things that cross our path when we focus much on what we don’t have. It limits our vision and what we actually want to achieve.

As aspiring entrepreneurs, you can start your business on a small scale. It must not be big at the beginning. Most big businesses you see today started small. You must not start a ‘big business, develop a multi-million dollar product or idea, etc when you are not ready to pay the price. I am not against you dreaming big. I am against dreaming big when you are unwilling to pay the price of becoming big. If you want to know more about the price of becoming big, read the failures of great entrepreneurs and you will learn more on how the beat the obstacles to become what they are.

Most of the happiest people I have met don’t sit around and show their discontent about the things they don’t have. They love and cherish every moment of what comes to them. This is same with successful entrepreneurs. They use what they’ve got to make whatever they earn. Failure or success doesn’t matter to them. Aspiring entrepreneurs should know that talent, skill, business idea of yours that you are waiting for money to start, may just be waiting for you to start so that the money starts filling your account.
